JUNE 2026: BANANA FOR EVERY HOUSEHOLD (BUILDING FOOD SECURITY IN KANDHAWA VILLAGE

Banana for Every Household: Building Food Security in Kandhawa Village

In Kandhawa Village, we are beginning a simple but powerful initiative: every household will receive one banana sucker to plant at home. Each banana sucker will eventually produce other suckers from the one. We shall leave only 4 suckers in one hole. The extra banana sucker will be planted in another hole. In this way, we hope to reach a point in history whereby every home has a sustainable number of bananas for their food security. This is more than just giving a plant—it is planting hope, dignity, and security for our families.

Bananas are a reliable source of food. Once the suckers grow, each home will have its own supply, reducing hunger and ensuring that children do not have to go to their neighbors in search of food. By sharing this gift, we are breaking the cycle of scarcity and preventing situations where children might be tempted to steal bananas from others. Instead, every family will enjoy the fruits of their own garden.

This program is about food security, community unity, and responsibility. A single sucker today will multiply into many stems tomorrow, providing fruit for years to come. It is a reminder that small beginnings can lead to great harvests when we work together as a community.

We envision Kandhawa Village as a place where:

  • Every child grows up with enough to eat.
  • Families share abundance rather than struggle with scarcity.
  • Neighbors live in harmony, knowing that each household has its own source of nourishment.

This initiative is not just about bananas—it is about empowering households, protecting children, and strengthening our community bonds. Together, we are planting seeds of peace, security, and prosperity.
